THE NORTHWOODS
The Northwoods of Wisconsin lies to the far north of the noise and bustle of the cities. The area is thick with endless woodlands and thousands of lakes, and it's rich with wildlife - eagles, loons, black bear, porcupines, foxes, even white deer.
It's a coveted place sought by thousands of yearly tourists who come to camp, fish, hunt, and snowmobile. Resorts abound; visitors stay in hotels, motels, tents, cabins, and lodges. Yet even with these guests, the region is quiet and peaceful.
It lacks only the things which distract. There are quiet trails winding past tracks of tall red pine where you can lose yourself in nature. Hidden lakes in secret corners of the world; forests so dark that sunlight can't penetrate.
This is where I live. This is where my stories take place, in this region of paradise that can often be dark and strange. So come with me and explore a world where the night breeze sighs through the pines, where loon calls echo eerily across twilight waters, and where anything is possible.
ABOUT T.H. FIGG
I have been writing seriously for over twenty years, and I have extensive experience in editing and proofreading. I'm currently a freelance copywriter after spending three years at a PR/marketing firm. I'm also a blogger, tech writer, and novelist. I work with EB1A applicants seeking to share their talents with the world.
I have several published works of fiction in true crime, YA fantasy, and modern mystery/suspense. My YA novel won a national award and was featured at the 2012 New York City Book Expo. I have written for Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, MSN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Associated Press, Forbes, and many more.
I serve on the Board of Directors for the Tri-County Council for Domestic Violence and volunteer at my local church in the music program. I am a single mother of two boys, the loves of my life.
I have a BLS from the University of Iowa and an MFA from Southern New Hampshire University. At both schools I've been on the dean's list/president's list/honor roll. I also have a graduate certificate in online teaching of writing from SNHU.
